New Live Cinema Performance Premiering at SF Urban Film Festival
A new live cinema performance called GANGWAY will premiere on Feb 1, 2019. The piece is about the recently closed, much loved, and often misunderstood Tenderloin gay bar called The Gangway, which recently closed after 105 years of operation. It is part of a program called "The Stories We Will Tell: Interactive Media & Placemaking" that I am co-curating with Susie Smith for the SF Urban Film Festival. It will be a lively evening of stories, experiments, interactions, critiques and an archival crock pot or two.

Monroe Fellowship for New Photography Series
A new photo-based project about the architecture of Panama City Beach, Florida was awarded a Monroe Fellows Research Grant from the New Orleans Center for the Gulf South at Tulane University. Research and production will begin on the Florida panhandle in October 2018.

Sf Film Society Grant For New Film
Excited to share the news that, OSCILLATE WILDLY, a film I co-wrote with Travis Mathews has been awarded a $25,000 packaging grant from theKennith Ranin Foundation and the San Francisco Film Society. The narrative film, about a young gay man with cerebral palsy, will be directed by Travis and shot by me in the Summer of 2015.

Interior's Canadian Premiere
INTERIOR. LEATHER BAR. had it's Canadian Premiere at theHot Docs Film Festival in Toronto last night. I was there to represent the film at this gem of a festival. It is North America's largest event for the documentary form and has some of the sharpest programming anywhere. Appropriately, the first questioned asked during my Q&A was: "Is this a documentary?" Floating Line At The Fusebox Festival
The CAVE & MOUNTAIN TOUR took unsuspecting bicyclists through the wildes of East Austin during three performances for the 2013Fusebox Festival. According to Head Tour Guide Dave Leslie, the highlight of the expedition for many was "The Floating Line," a 1982 Texas Dept. of Transporation commissioned piece by James Turrell (who was unhappy with the final product and calls it "destroyed").

Burnet Road Photo Project In A New Book
The first installment of my three-part photography book project ALL THE BUILDINGS ON BURNET ROAD will be included in the forthcoming VARIOUS SMALL BOOKS from MIT Press. The book is a collection of artist's book inspired by Ed Ruscha's work in the book form. My Burnet Road book unapologeticaly appropriates the form of Ruscha's 1966 accordion-fold work All the Buildings on the Sunset Strip.

The book will be published on February 10, 2013. Stay tuned for some exciting exhibition announcements in early 2013.

Hayward Gay Prom Documentary Gets Underway
The Bay Area suburb of Hayward is the somewhat unlikely home to the oldest gay prom in the world (17 years!). Spearheaded by theHayward Public Library and funded by the California Council for the Humanities, the student-produced documentary began shooting on June 16, 2011. Keith is serving as the project's technical advisor.
